Can I come visit my dog? Due to the time spent training your dog and working with new and finished clients dogs our time is limited. We would love to meet with everyone, but reality sets in and their are only so many hours in a day. We recommend as much as possible to wait until the end of training to come visit your dog. Once, your dogs training is complete, we will spend as much time with you as needed to make sure you understand all the training that has been taught.
Will my dog remember who I am? I have yet to see a dog that has forgotten who its previous owners were. The time goes fast and before you know it your dog will be back home- and as good as new!
I don't know if my family will let my dog go for the two months of training? I take a few special measures here at Utah Dog Obedience Training to ensure your family feels as close to your dog as possible. Every other week I will use my cell phone and during training take a picture or two of your dog working. I will then send them to you with a small update on how your dog is doing and what we are working on. This helps the seperation during the training to be a lot easier and keeps you update on your dogs progress. Past customers aboslutely love this and plus you get some fun pictures of your dog!
What food should I feed my dog? When it comes to food, you get what you pay for. Stick with a good quality brand, with good ingredients and high protein and fat content. I like Purina Pro Plan Sport which can be found at Petsmart or Petco. If your dog looks good on the food you prefer, than that is great too!
How often will I have to work with my dog after I get it back from training? The more the better, but lets get realistic everyone is busy with work and life. The main thing is to reinforce the training in every interaction you have with your dog. Be consistent and you will get consistent results. Your dog will never forget his or her training. They may test you here and there, but that is why you are there to be to a good pack leader and reinforce as needed.
